Kochi Metro brings you a month's exciting happenings in a condensed format.

'A World in Common', a travelling photo exhibition celebrating 10 years of partnership between India and the Agence Française de Développement (AFD), was held at Chavara Cultural Centre from 17 February to 28 February. Mayor Soumini Jain, KMRL Managing Director A.P.M. Mohammed Hanish, AFD Director for India Nicolas Fornage, and Fr. Roby, Director of Chavara Cultural Centre were present at the inaugural event.

The exhibition highlighted a few examples of the fruitful collaboration between India and AFD in social, economic and environmental sectors, including the Kochi Metro project.

KMRL and M/s AMP Solar India Private Limited signed the Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) for 2.3MWp Solar Power on 5 February. KMRL has adopted the Renewable Energy Service Company (RESCO) model for its solar projects, where the vendor would undertake the complete investment as well as the operation and maintenance, and KMRL would purchase power from the vendor. The PPA was signed by Shri. Thiruman Archunan, Director Projects, KMRL and Shri. Shriprakash Rai, Director–Distributed Generation, AMP Solar, in the presence of Shri. A P M Mohammed Hanish, MD, KMRL.

The second edition of the Kochi Public Transport Day celebrations was held on 28 February at the Vyttila Mobility Hub. Conceived as a year-long campaign, it is jointly organised by Kochi Metro Rail Limited and Centre for Public Policy Research. The edition dedicated to the ‘services of public transport staffers’ started with a free health camp inaugurated by Shri. A.B. Sabu, Chairman, Standing Committee for Welfare, Kochi Corporation. ‘Sreshtasanchari Puraskaram’ honouring the passengers with highest patronage to Metro Rail for the month of February were awarded to Smt. Sabida Beevi, Shri. Laiji NN and Smt. Aswathy Sreekumar.

OPPO Valentine Selfie Corner transformed the Edappally Metro Station into the best spot for passengers to preserve the seasonal moments.

Edappally Metro Station became shooting set for a Telugu movie on 26 February. Movie director Shri. Aneesh Krishna, actors Raj Tarun and Riddhi Kumar among other cast and crew were present at the station.

Seminar Complex, CUSAT hosted a science exhibition ‘Sastrayan’ on 27 February and BOAT'LE, promoted by KMRL and STICON, opened a world of solutions to a major problem we face today, menace of plastic bottles.

Edappally metro station – Lulu corridor under construction is progressing fast.
