Tripunithura looks to grow with Metro – The Times of India
Tripunithura: With the Kochi Metro rail extending to Tripunithura, the municipal budget 2014-15, presented by vice-chairperson Thilothama Suresh, focused on developing link roads and public places as part of the project on Thursday. A major portion of the annual income has been allotted for expanding non-conventional sectors which in turn would increase the revenue of the municipality.
“More funds have been allocated for infrastructure development. Apart from link roads, the earlier proposal to construct a shopping complex-cum-bus bay, next to the proposed new Metro rail terminal near Milma, needs to be revived,” the vice-chairperson said.
For maintaining and widening link roads, a total of Rs.16.07 crore has been earmarked in the budget. This includes a plan fund grant of Rs 5.25 crore and finance commission aid of Rs 2.4 crore.
