Partition Horrors Remembrance Day
As part of the Independence Day celebrations, a photo exhibition was held at MGRD
Metro Station, themed "Partition Horrors Remembrance Day". The exhibition served
as a tribute to the countless victims of the 1947 Partition, and recognize the deep
scars it left on out collective consciousness.
The exhibition was inaugurated by Kochi Mayor Adv. M. Anilkumar, in the esteemed
presence of Kochi Metro Managing Director Shri Loknath Behera and other senior
officials of KMRL.
Through a compelling visual narrative, the exhibition portrays the story of millions who
sought new homes in environments that are alien and resistive, and how a way of life
and ages of co-existance came to a sudden and dramatic end.
