The days aren’t too far when all of us might have to throw on a pollution mask to head out to the nearest grocer’s. But carrying a ray of hope amidst all the frightening indices is KMRL, with its novel initiative to introduce 20 e-autos as part of the feeder network. An agreement for the same was signed with Kinetic Green Energy & Power Solutions in October this year. With the coming of a greener alternative, there will be a considerable reduction in carbon emissions. The autos are said to be distributed across six stations – Aluva, Kalamassery, Edapally, Kaloor, M.G.Road and Maharaja’s Ground. The 20 ‘Kinetic Safar Smart’ autos will be used exclusively as feeders to the metro and will only be available during metro’s operational hours.
KMRL, in its leap towards building an environment-friendly space, has created yet another milestone.
