2018 was a jolly good year for KMRL. The constant rise in ridership bore testimony to the fact that the rail authority was successful in capturing the hearts of Kochi’s citizens.
Between 20 December 2018 and 07 January 2019, the KMRL saw a ridership of up to 50,000 per day. While the holiday season witnessed maximum crowd, the bustle isn’t any less during normal times. As per reports, the ridership on regular days range between 35,000 to 40,000. With active promotion by KMRL and Axis Bank, metro has also witnessed an increase in the number of users availing the Kochi1 card facility, which has gone above 26,000.
Indeed, the new year looks quite promising already.
