In another ecofriendly move by KMRL, the rail authority, in collaboration with SCMS Water Institute, recently signed an MoU to carry out a detailed study on the effective utilisation of rainwater collected over metro stations, viaducts and depot. With the onset of the project, Metro can transform into an important rainwater harvesting structure for the entire city.
Commenting on the novel initiative was KMRL MD APM Mohammed Hanish IAS. “There is scarcity of water everywhere. To counter this extraordinary situation every effort to conserve water has to be taken. Through the initiative we are sending a wonderful message to the society that whatever be the space available, water should be conserved,” he said.
