The construction of the iconic cantilever bridge, as part of Kochi Metro’s extension to Petta, has been successfully completed. The unique construction methodology was adopted for Ernakulam South Railway crossing phase, which has been a critical and challenging section. The bridge spans 90m across Ernakulam South on a curve of radius 152m. The special span arrangement will allow uninterrupted movement of the Indian Railway trains underneath. Being one of the first complicated structures to be built on a metro track in India, Kochi Metro has created yet another record in its list of firsts.
