CM Inaugurated Thykoodam- Petta stretch of Kochi Metro and declared completion of Phase 1 (Blue Line)
Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan on September 7th, 2020 inaugurated the Thykoodam- Petta stretch of Kochi Metro thereby declaring the completion of Phase 1 of Kochi Metro Rail Limited(Blue Line).
Union Minister of State (Independent Charge ) for Housing and Urban Affairs, Hardip Singh Puri presided over the function which was conducted over video conference.
“We are glad that on the very first day of reopening itself we opened services to the new station,” said Alkesh Kumar Sharma IAS.
The Hon’ble Chief Minister along with the Hon’ble Union Minister flagged off the train from Petta at 12:30 PM on 7th September 2020. Commissioner of Metro Railway Safety (CMRS) had approved the opening of the Petta metro station back in May 2020. KMRL had completed the works of Petta station way back in March itself but the commissioning was delayed due to COVID19 lockdown.
Kerala Transport Minister A K Saseendran, Mayor Soumin Jain, Ernakulam MP Hibi Eden, Thrikkakkara MLA P T Thomas, and Thrippunithura MLA Swaraj S also attended the event.
