Every sixth pillar of Kochi Metro will have a vertical garden, utilising biodegradable waste from the city instead of soil. The plants contained on the coir beds will be watered using drip irrigation, the implementation of which is being tied up with the Swatchh Bharat Mission. We are also planning to collect waste from other municipalities for this purpose.
